Gladstone Pottery Museum
Stoke-on-Trent is world famous for its pottery and no visit to the city would be complete without experiencing this unique museum. Discover how bone china tableware was made in the original workshops and giant bottle kilns of the former Gladstone China Works, now preserved as the last complete Victorian pottery factory in the country.
The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery
Travel back in time and discover the history of The Potteries including the world’s greatest collection of Staffordshire ceramics, a World War II Spitfire, decorative arts and natural history. See items from the Staffordshire Hoard on display and visit the museum café and shop.
Trentham Gardens
Whether you’re looking for a garden with peace and quiet, or fun and action you will find a great day out here at Trentham. The new-look gardens have matured into some of the finest in Britain, to be called by Alan Titchmarsh - no less - as “one of the UK’s must-see gardens“.
Middleport Pottery
The historic Middleport Pottery sites on the same site as Burleigh Pottery. The Prince's Regeneration Trust is undertaking an £8.7 million regeneration of the atmospheric Middleport Pottery which will create a new visitor centre to explore and cafe to enjoy.
Churnet Valley Railway
Kingsley & Froghall station is located at the current southern terminus of the line. Like so many NSR stations, it's neither particularly near Kingsley or Froghall villages and a short walk was therefore necessary to catch the train.
Trentham Monkey Forest
Monkey forest is set in 60 acres of beautiful Staffordshire woodland and meadows where 140 monkeys live in total freedom. You are plunged into the Barbary macaques fascinating world as you hear rustling in the trees, chattering in a strange language and see the monkeys crashing through branches.
Britannia Stadium
The Britannia Stadium is an all-seater football stadium in Stoke-on-Trent, England and the home of Premier League club Stoke City F.C.. It has space for 27,740 spectators (reduced from 28,384 due to segregation). The stadium was built in 1997 at a cost of £14.7 million.
Etruria Industrial Museum
Etruria Industrial Museum is the last steam-powered potters’ mill in Britain. The mill is ‘in steam’ several times a year when the 1903 boiler is fired and historic machinery can be seen working. Situated in a pleasant location at the junction of the Trent & don Canals.
